This is my first post so I will mention a few things I want to put down straight away.
Anorexia, or for that matter bulimia, are illnesses that affect hundreds of thousands of people world wide.
The idea that only teenage girls have anorexia or an eating disorder has long gone. Now days children four years old have been found with anorexia, as have men, and also middle aged women.
In this highly peculiar world we live in there are even people in favor of anorexia and who promote it through pro-anorexia sites.
Which not only shows that society is losing its center, but also that people who refuse to acknowledge that it is an illness and actively promote it, are deluding themselves and need help themselves.
On the other hand one of the positive things is that there is much more awareness, unfortunately due to highly publicized deaths. Legislation is trying to catch up in some countries.
For any sufferer, or their family, it is a very hard journey they have to follow – full of pit falls – but there is a light at the end of the tunnel and you end up stronger.
You can recover fully.
I know and you must never lose hope.
