Binge eating and compulsive eating is an illness where a person doing it, gorges himself on food, in large quantities and in a short period of time.
The reasons behind this type of behavior are psychological and emotional.
A simple definition of what is known as binge eating, or compulsive eating is characterized by the binging sessions until full, and continuous food tasting.
All this is not a response to hunger but a loss of control and where the person allows his impulses to take over.
Binge eating behavior can be present in bulimia, with the additional vomit provoking behavior.
An important point is that this frenzied feeding is not because of physical hunger, but due to emotional hunger, as eating will help to manage, release or self anesthetize the person.
