Can You Lose Arm Flab With Your Thoughts?

Eating Disorders No Comments »

For the most part, diet and exercise are not what holds women back from reaching their “lose arm flab” goal. The truth is that diet and exercise are actually the least important aspects of reaching sexy arm stardom!

There is so much free information out there that most women know how to eat and exercise in a relatively healthy way.

But most women do NOT know how to stick to said programs for the long haul. Why? Because their thought processes haven’t been optimized.

I struggled with up and down motivation for a very long time when trying to lose arm flab. So called self help books and motivational speakers only provided temporary motivation that would always end up fading away.

What was my saving grace? The one and only David Burns M.D. He wrote an excellent book which provided easy to use methods for optimizing thought processes. Central to his method, was the identification of major thought distortions.

And here are 3 of the said distortions that you should eliminate immediately from your internal dialogue if you want everlasting motivation:

1. Pressure phrases. Unfortunately, the “pain is weakness leaving the body” culture we live in has perpetuated the existence of pressure phrases. Never tell yourself you “should, must or oughta” go workout. Doing so will make you feel pressured and apathetic. Over the long run, these types of phrases will murder your motivation.

2. Labeling statements. If you ever find yourself attaching a label to a hiccup on your part, stop immediately. Labels (i.e., loser, worthless, slob, sloth) create the illusion that there is an internal problem with you that can be fixed. Instead of using labels, describe the situation that led to the hiccup so that you can avoid it in the future.

3. Minimization phrases. These types of phrases can turn men into mice. Why? Because when you minimize you view yourself as being much less capable than you actually are. Never doubt your ability to reach a goal until you have actually tried.

Learning how to lose arm flab isn’t just about finding the right diet or exercise program. It’s also about finding the right mental program. And with the above thought distortions in mind, your mental game will be as solid as a rock. Good luck!

Flabby Arms And Sugar Addictions

Eating Disorders No Comments »

The research is crystal clear here: sugar addictions do exist. In fact, high sugar intakes alter levels of dopamine in the brain just as drugs do. Not a good scenario for your flabby arm goal.

Unfortunately, if you have a high sugar intake your levels of insulin will be chronically elevated. And insulin completely blocks the burning of arm fat.

In the end, you have to overcome any addiction to sugar you may have if you are really serious about getting lean and sexy arms.

So without further ado, here is how to overcome a sugar addiction to get rid of flabby arms:

1. Embrace the withdrawal. Simply being aware that there will be a sugar withdrawal puts you way ahead of the game. Many women just go around in circles and do not really understand what is going on.

2. Stabilize levels of blood sugar. Once levels of blood sugar plummet, your body will send you on a sugar scavenging hunt. After a certain point, it will be nearly impossible to resist the cravings. So never let yourself go hungry if you want to get rid of those flabby arms.

3. Trick your nervous system. Your nervous system can only take in so much information at once. If you overload it with information, your sugar cravings will get blocked out. I recommend activities that require a lot of attention.

4. Consume artificial sweeteners only when needed. These are great tools for tricking your taste buds into thinking their getting the real thing. However, you do not want to go overboard here since we still do not know if high intakes of sweeteners over long periods of time are safe.

5. Have loose leaf teas. Yerba mate is your best bet here. This tea is so powerful that it can knock out your cravings for an entire day. The only catch here is that you may have some trouble sleeping. Make sure you have the loose leaf version.

Sugar addictions can completely block your efforts for getting rid of flabby arms. If you really want to succeed here, you have to attack your sugar addiction head on. Only then will you get the sexy arms you so desperately want and deserve.
